Raffle off a Shotgun or similar items that can be purchased or donated.

A fun sales incentive, to help generate interest in the raffle, is to give band numbers 100, 200, 300, 400, & 500 instant winner gifts - usually donated items (hunting videos, shotgun shells, hats, etc.) Also, give a leather strap or lanyard so they can display the bands around their neck.

You can order your bands with special stamping of your chapter name and banquet date.
The bands are consecutively numbered and can take 4 lines of 24 characters of special stamping -

Some Examples of Raffle Techniques

Banquet Bands are usually used to raise money on the “Gun of the Year” Raffle.  However, they can be used to raffle any item.  Band Raffles generate a lot of excitement at Banquets.  This excitement tends to help draw more patrons in succeeding years.  The best part is that your members will have an everlasting collector’s item to take home with them, not a paper ticket that simply gets thrown away.  The bands can be stamped with your chapter name and banquet date and consecutively numbered.  A  piece of thick string /lanyard can be used so they can  keep track of the bands and numbers.
 
Some examples of raffle procedures

• Penny Raffle - Purchase 500 bands. Band Number 1 is sold for $.01 and Band Number 500 is sold for $5.00  Sell all 500 and you will bring in $1252.50 (other dollar amounts can be applied to yield a higher profit ) or you can round to the nearest even number to simplify the money exchange and generate a little more money.  For example band number 279 would cost $2.80  Band number 153 would be $1.50 and Band number 8 would be $.10.

• Purchase 600 Bands and sell the first 500 as the example above.  Then numbers 501-600 sell at $5 each.  This will generate approximately $1752.00 for your chapter. Or take the numbers 501-600 and round to the nearest $.10 to generate $1802.00

• Purchase 200 bands and sell them for $10 each to raise $2000.  This method increases the odds of winning from 1 in 500 to 1 in 200, but you may not sell all the bands.

• Purchase 500 bands that have numbers 1- 200 stamped with $1 and numbers 201-400 stamped with $3 and numbers 401-500 stamped with $5.  This will generate about $1200 without having to deal with all the change.  (*Please note - there is an extra $3 type change charge for each time the dollar amount changes)  Also, you can add incentive gifts for the bands numbered 100, 200, 300, 400, 500.  These are usually small donated items.
