From the President

At National Band, we have always sought to serve our customers to the best of our ability, by making the highest quality identification products. And in recent years, we have started to focus on not only producing good products, but also building more trust, accuracy, and integrity into our daily operations. I feel so honored to be the current President of such a wonderful company–a company that has been in my family for 5 generations now. I cherish the history and legacy of this place, and have such high hopes for where we can continue to grow.

When I started at National Band in 1981, I never dreamed to be sitting in the position I hold right now. As the first woman in the family to work here, I had a lot to prove. I haven’t always done everything right in my tenure, but I’ve learned and grown more through being a small business owner than I ever anticipated. It has taught me to be strong, to trust myself, and to not shy away from a challenge. Family business is tough, but one of the most rewarding things I can imagine being a part of.

As we close out our first month of 2016, I want to offer my thanks to the incredible customers who have faithfully come back to us year after year. I want to thank our amazingly hard working employees who have come and gone over the last 113 years–you’ve made this legacy possible. I want to thank my family for constantly seeking improvement and growth for us as individuals and as a company.

Our Vision statement says that “we live for the day when the spirit of our unbreakable family blesses everyone we reach; when trust is built into every solution we produce from concept to delivery; and when National Band and Tag is the #1 choice for identification bands and tags.”

We continue to focus on this vision. And as President, that is my commitment to our customers, vendors, employees, and family this year and always.

What Colors of Aluminum Do We Have?

One question that we receive at National Band & Tag often is about our colored aluminum and what shade it is. You’ll see a chart of the colors we offer below, however, keep in mind that different computers and devices show colors differently. This means a blue tag on your smart phone might look a different shade of blue on your desktop computer.

Also, when we purchase our material, there is a certain amount of shade variation from one order to another. One batch of red may not be the same shade of red as another. It usually stays within a certain color range, but we cannot guarantee that the red tag your received last year will be the same exact red you get this year.

The most accurate way to see a color is to request free samples of the styles you are interested in. Our free samples come from overruns of current orders so it is coming from our current material stock. Colors can vary by products as well and by what we have in stock. It’s one our favorite times of the year again, Trade Show Time! We attend trade shows for different industries and products throughout the year, but between January and February we will be exhibiting at 4 shows! If you are attending any of the shows or conventions below, be sure to stop by and see us.

NAGA logo2016 will be NAGA’s 84th Annual Conference. Their mission is “to protect, promote and sustain a positive environment in which game bird producers and hunting preserve operators can grow their businesses through monitoring and influencing of legislation, informing and educating our members on current industry trends and issues, and promoting and sustaining our hunting heritage through increased public awareness.”

IPPE 4c LogoThe International Production and Processing Expo, is also known as the International Poultry Expo. “Hailed as the largest annual trade show for the poultry, meat and feed industries, the show focuses on Innovation, Education, Global Reach and Networking”

NWTF logo2016 will be the NWTF’s 40th annual convention. “The NWTF is dedicated to the conservation of the wild turkey and the preservation of our hunting heritage. “Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt.” is the NWTF’s 10-year initiative to:

  1. Conserve or enhance 4 million acres of critical upland habitat
  2. Create 1.5 million hunters
  3. Open access to 500,000 additional acres for hunting”
