Tags to Identify Everything in Your Arboretum

Trees, plants, shrubs, flowers all come in different sizes, and so should your identification tags! NB&T can help create a simple or extravagant look to your ID tags for your arboretum, walking trail, botanical garden, or nature preserve. We’ve listened and learned from our customers, and with their help, came up with these popular tags for trees, plants, and everything else in your arboretum.

 

Tree Tags

Our most popular style is the #14ARBOR Tags. These large, 3” x 5” tags are made from Black UV Stable Aluminum, which provides high visibility and will last outdoors for 20+ years.

For attaching your tag directly to the tree, we offer nails and springs (styles #1529 & # 1528). Or if you don’t want the tag directly on the tree, we offer 20” tall stakes (style #1530). Stakes come with an adhesive label for attaching the tag to the stake.

Our customers like to put QR Codes on their Arboretum Tags to create a self-guided walking trail experience. You can read more here on how to create a trail with QR Coded tags.

While the 3” x 5” is one of the largest tags we offer, we also have other shapes and sizes available for your tree tagging needs.

Plant Tags

New as of 2020! Style #14PLANT is a 1.5” x 4.5” plant tag, made to match the tree tag version. Even though these tags are smaller, we are still able to offer QR Codes and logos due to our high-tech laser etching process. By matching your plant tags and tree tags, you can create a clean, cohesive look to your arboretum.

For attaching the plant tag, we offer 12” stakes (style #1531). Stakes come with an adhesive label for attaching the tag to the stake.

Memorial Tags

Honor those who donate to your arboretum with a memorial tag! The tags can be mounted to trees, benches, fountains, and statues, to memorialize those who have donated, employees, sponsors, etc. Memorial Tags can be personalized with names, dates, quotes, and almost anything else you could imagine. They are also made from the same Black UV Stable Aluminum material as the plant and tree tags which means it will last outdoors for 20+ years

Data Transfer

Use this Excel Sheet to send us the information you want laser etched onto your tags. Sketches, drawings, and mockups are also helpful to ensure we get the layout of your tags correct. National Poultry Day – 2021

March 19th is National Poultry Day! Did you know, the word poultry is derived from the Latin word “pullus” which means “small animal”? Today we use the word poultry to describe domesticated birds kept for meat, eggs, and feathers.

National Band & Tag manufactures a variety of products for poultry identification such as wing bands, leg bands, and clip-on blinders. We got our start 118 years ago in 1902 by selling wing bands and leg bands for chickens. NB&T has many types of poultry customers, backyard farmers, genetic researchers, breeders, hatcheries, and more all use our ID products.

While our products can work on many types of poultry, here are some of the most popular items chosen by our customers depending on species:

Wing Bands are a popular option because they are permanent, and have a high retention rate. Wing bands are usually put on chicks, anywhere from a day old to a few weeks, but can also be put on adult birds.

Leg bands are more commonly used on fully grown birds, but when used on a young bird, the band must be constantly changed as the bird’s leg grows. Leg bands can be a temporary source of identification or a permanent one. When ordering leg bands, please measure your bird’s leg for accurate sizing. Día Nacional de las Aves de Corral – 2021

¡El 19 de marzo es el Día Nacional de las Aves de Corral! La denominación de Aves de Corral la usamos para describir a aquellas aves domesticadas que se crían para carne, huevos y plumas. En National Band & Tag fabricamos una gran variedad de productos para la identificación de estas aves, como por ejemplo: placas para las alas, anillos para las patas y anteojeras.

Comenzamos hace 118 años en 1902 fabricando y vendiendo placas y anillos para pollos. NB&T tiene muchos tipos de clientes en el rubro avícola que utilizan nuestros productos de identificación, como por ejemplo pequeñas granjas, investigadores en el área de la genética, criadores de aves y muchos más.

 

Nuestros productos pueden ser utilizados en muchos tipos de aves de corral, pero los mas populares entre nuestros clientes, de acuerdo al tipo de ave en que son usados son:

Las placas para las alas son una opción popular, pues son permanentes y tiene un alto porcentaje de retención. Estas placas se colocan en pichones, a partir de un día de nacido, pero también pueden ser usados en aves adultas.

Los anillos para las patas son usualmente utilizados en aves adultas, pero cuando son usados en aves más jóvenes deben ser cambiados con frecuencia a medida que las patas de las aves se hacen mas gruesas. Los anillos pueden ser utilizados como identificación temporal o permanente. Cuando ordene anillos, por favor mida el diámetro de las patas de aves en que serán utilizadas, para obtener el tamaño correcto. No nos hacemos responsables por pedidos de tamaños erróneos.
